This space was inspired by
real experiences of everyday life — growing difficulties within a relationship, attempts to understand and make sense of them, and the everyday experience of being with children as they grow into adulthood and begin to follow their own paths. It is also a story of searching for the right kind of support when familiar ways of coping no longer work.
It is about returning to a fading light and asking why that light begins to disappear — in relationships, at work and within ourselves. This space embraces experiences of overwhelm, crisis, nervous breakdown and depression, as well as the unraveling of a familiar identity and the attempt to make sense of what is happening.
Not as a drama, but as a process that calls for attention and understanding.
FIM in Everyday Life also explores relationships between parents and their adult children — generational differences, different patterns of thinking, changing roles and boundaries.
It is a space for those trying to find their way through changing family, partner and professional relationships, without simple answers and without pressure to fix everything. A place where everyday life becomes a source of insight, rather than another battleground.
